Mission
Our Purpose
The Whole Stag Co. is a small group of professionals specialising in the management of wild deer, high-quality, relaxed and friendly mentorship and the production of ethically and hygienically sourced venison. We love deer and wish to see a healthy deer population in balance with its habitat that landowners can enjoy. We are all members of the British Deer Society and other leading conservation bodies.
Our work reflects Natural England’s principles of responsible stewardship and is guided by data, best practice, and a commitment to animal welfare. We invest time in population monitoring, habitat assessment, and careful planning. When culling is required, it is carried out humanely and ethically and in a way that meets or exceeds the recognised standards.
We strive to cultivate a deeper understanding of ethical deer management while supporting biodiversity and reducing carbon footprints through responsible practices.

Jon Roberts
Co-Founder, Director & Head of Operations
Jon brings over two decades of military experience alongside his wildlife management and conservation skills, and is dedicated to sustaining hunting traditions while promoting ecological balance. He's also the Chief Instructor and lead Deer Manager.
